Welcome to the first episode of Not So Christian Brothers — the Irish podcast that was nearly cancelled before it began. Formerly known as Brothers in Arms (until the lawyers got involved), this rebranded debut throws you straight into the chaotic brotherhood of Justin Caffrey and Colm Hayes — same parents, different surnames, different timelines, united by chaos.

Justin Caffrey, Gen X, former monk trainee, mindfulness master, high-performance coach, and recovering finance guy.
Colm Hayes, Baby Boomer, veteran broadcaster, radio legend, and lifelong professional contrarian.
In this no-holds-barred opening episode, they attempt to answer a heartfelt listener question about sibling rivalry, social comparison, and the anxiety of being the “less flashy” brother. The advice quickly derails into stories of being beaten up by sisters, awkward blind dates, failed relationships, swearing girlfriends, and carless boyfriends.

Why the name?
They’re brothers. Sort of. Same parents, different surnames. Hayes changed his name early in his radio career for showbiz reasons. Both were educated by the Christian Brothers. Only one of them still believes in God. We’ll let you, the listener, figure out who still practices… and who most definitely does not.
